The original pre-production Model II. The pair was built as a technology demonstrator prototype. One loudspeaker was built first, then a second, slightly different prototype. They feature in the full color Harold Beveridge Inc. publicity brochure. Picture was taken at a family friend's house in Santa Barbara (friend and daughter in the photo) with Bev himself taking center stage (seated in the armchair). This prototype Model II became the property of Rick Beveridge. The unique white lacquer finish is the result of Rick's own manual effort when, together with a friend, they manually sanded the wood and sprayed it with several layers of lacquer. Unfortunately, the pair had perished in a house fire in 1983. While trying to rescue it from the flames, Rick had suffered severe burns that necessitated 85 days of hospitalization.
